Puddles

Mirrored Acrylic, 2005

This series of sculptural pieces were made from drawings of particular puddles. They are cut out from mirrored acrylic, creating a strangely unrecognisable object which has a balance between the generic of the mirrored surface and the specific of the edge of the piece that derives from the particular topography of the location from where it was taken.

On being shown in the gallery there is a strange disjuncture between inside and outside, implying a level of dereliction or ruin which would lead to these puddles being inside the building.

Pieces from this series have been shown at Outpost, Norwich; Surface Gallery, Nottingham and at The Contemporary Art Society, London.
